Mississippi is in the early stages of potential growth in the wine industry. Our business is established to make quality grapes for the wine industry.
We had several vines that didn’t thrive or just died for what seemed to be no apparent reason, until I looked closer. After showing these photos to my consultant, we determined it was freeze damage. Blanc du Bois doesn’t tolerate temps below 20 degrees F well and on January 22 this year we had temps drop to single digits. The fluid in the trunks blew out like a frozen pipe. Thankfully not all the vines were damaged and most of the ones that were are putting out new growth at the base. A setback, but not catastrophic.
Back on the airstream project. New gaskets and seals in this window. Only seventeen more to go! New growth in the vineyard is looking good.
